RepAir Carbon secures €12.5M in EIC funding to accelerate carbon capture technology deployment across Europe
Strategic blend of grant and equity investment validates electrochemical solution for industrial decarbonization and carbon removal.
Tel Aviv, Israel – June 2025 - RepAir Carbon, developer of breakthrough electrochemical carbon capture technology, has secured €12.5 million in blended funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC) and EIC Fund. The funding comprises €2.5 million in grant funding and €10 million in equity investment, positioning RepAir among only 40 companies selected from 150 finalists in this highly competitive program.
This milestone represents a significant endorsement of RepAir's innovative approach to carbon capture, which uniquely addresses the challenge of capturing CO₂ from diluted sources using a fully electric, heat-free electrochemical process.
"This EIC backing validates both our technology and our vision for scalable carbon removal infrastructure that can meaningfully impact Europe's climate goals," said Amir Shiner, CEO and Co-founder of RepAir Carbon. "We're honored to be recognized among Europe's most promising climate tech innovators and excited to accelerate our manufacturing and deployment capabilities."
The funding will drive immediate progress across RepAir's strategic priorities:
Manufacturing scale-up: Expanding production capacity for RepAir's modular, mass-manufacturable capture units to meet growing demand from industrial partners and project developers.
Pioneering project deployment: Launching installations targeting both diluted industrial emissions from aluminum smelters and gas turbines, as well as Direct Air Capture applications.
Market expansion: Scaling technology deployment to serve hard-to-abate industries while building essential carbon removal infrastructure.
RepAir's electrochemical solution stands apart in its ability to efficiently capture CO₂ across concentrations from 400ppm (atmospheric levels) to 5%. This versatility directly supports EU Green Deal objectives, Fit-for-55 targets and the European Commission's Industrial Carbon Management Strategy. RepAir's fully electric, heat-free approach addresses both carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and industrial decarbonization.
With this funding secured, RepAir is positioned to advance its electrochemical carbon capture technology and expand its impact across Europe.
"We extend our gratitude to the EIC, our partners, and our investors for this strong endorsement," added Amir Shiner. "This support accelerates our mission to build the carbon capture infrastructure essential for a carbon-negative future."
